GetYourGuide Next Payout and Your Balance Explained

One says €0. The other says money is coming. Neither has bothered to introduce itself properly. Let’s sort that out.

First, what is the Bookings for Payout page?

If you have opened GetYourGuide’s Finance section and found Your Balance sitting beside Next Payout, there is a fair chance you have stared at the two numbers for a moment and thought, Right. Which one of you is my actual money?

Perfectly reasonable question, friend.

GetYourGuide’s Bookings for Payout page is basically a forward-looking view of what has already been invoiced but not paid, and what is building toward your next payment run. The two numbers are related, but they are not the same thing.

GetYourGuide explains the feature in its current Bookings for Payout guide.

What does “Your Balance” mean?

Your Balance is the total amount from invoices that have been generated but have not yet been paid.

So if GetYourGuide has created an invoice for €700 and that invoice is still waiting for payment, Your Balance can show €700.

Once that invoice is marked as paid, GetYourGuide says the balance returns to €0.

This is the important bit: a €0 balance does not automatically mean you have earned nothing, lost your bookings, or accidentally donated the month to the internet.

GetYourGuide says Your Balance may legitimately show €0 when:

  • you have no unpaid invoices
  • your latest invoice has already been paid
  • a new invoice has not yet been generated

So if your balance suddenly drops to zero just after a payment is processed, that can be completely normal. The number is showing unpaid invoiced money, not every euro you have earned or might soon be paid.

What does “Next Payout” mean?

Next Payout is an estimate of the amount GetYourGuide expects to include in your upcoming payment run.

GetYourGuide says it can include eligible active bookings, supplier cancellation compensation and manual payouts or adjustments that are due for the next cycle.

That makes it a useful number. It is also a number I would treat as a current estimate, rather than engraving it onto a small brass plaque and considering the matter settled.

The actual invoice and later payment confirmation are the documents I would use when I want to reconcile what was formally invoiced and what was actually paid.

Why can Your Balance and Next Payout be completely different?

Because they are looking at different stages.

Next PayoutBuilding toward the next run
Invoice generatedAmount becomes invoiced
Your BalanceUnpaid invoice amount

Here is a simple example.

Imagine this:
Your latest invoice has already been paid, so Your Balance = €0.
Meanwhile, completed bookings are accumulating for the next cycle, so Next Payout = €860.

Nothing is missing. The two numbers are simply describing different moments in the process.

It feels much less mysterious once everybody is wearing a name badge.

Why did my Next Payout suddenly reset?

This one can look alarming if you do not know the rule.

GetYourGuide says the Next Payout calculation resets when a new invoice is generated. It does not simply reset because the calendar has wandered into a new month.

For monthly suppliers, that normally happens when the monthly invoice is generated. For bi-weekly suppliers, the reset happens twice per month with the two invoice cycles.

So if you saw €1,240 yesterday and a much smaller Next Payout number after a new invoice appeared, the first thing I would do is check the newly generated invoice.

The old amount may not have vanished. It may simply have moved from the “coming next” bucket into an actual invoice.

Financial dashboards do enjoy moving things between boxes without first checking whether we are emotionally prepared.

What if I have several unpaid invoices?

GetYourGuide says Your Balance can combine multiple unpaid invoices.

So if Invoice A is €400 and Invoice B is €250, and neither has yet been paid, Your Balance may show €650.

This is useful, but it also means you should not automatically expect the balance to match one individual invoice when several are outstanding.

If you are trying to understand an actual payment, check which invoices are included in the corresponding payment confirmation. GetYourGuide says a single payment confirmation can cover more than one invoice.

If that sentence just made your tea taste slightly more complicated, our payment confirmation guide explains the whole GPS-/GS- business in plain English.

A very important exception: Payment by Checkout date

There is one limitation worth knowing before you spend half an hour trying to make this page behave like somebody else’s account.

GetYourGuide says the Bookings for Payout page only works for supply partners paid based on travel date.

If your account is paid using Payment by Checkout date, GetYourGuide advises relying on your invoices and payment confirmations instead.

That matters because checkout-date accounts can legitimately show different invoice and payment-confirmation amounts for the same general period. The two documents are using different timing rules.

In that situation, skip trying to force the dashboard estimate into a neat little box and work from the actual documents. Our payout reconciliation guide walks through that process from invoice to bank.

When should I actually investigate?

I would not investigate simply because Your Balance is €0 or because Next Payout changed after a new invoice was generated. Both can be normal.

I would start looking more closely when the actual documents or payment timing stop making sense.

  • A booking you expected is missing from the generated invoice.
  • An unpaid balance remains after the normal payment window.
  • The invoice is marked paid but the money does not arrive.
  • The payment confirmation total does not make sense against the invoices it covers.
  • The amount that reaches the bank is lower than the confirmed payment.

Those are no longer just dashboard-estimate questions. They are proper payout questions, and we already have friendly little rabbit holes for them:

Where OTA Ninja fits, and where it does not

OTA Ninja is not there to look at a live Next Payout estimate and announce that GetYourGuide owes you precisely €37.14.

That would be brave. Also silly.

OTA Ninja works from the actual payout documents: your GetYourGuide invoice Excel file or files, the corresponding payment confirmation Excel file, and the amount that reached your bank if you want to check that final stage too.

So if the dashboard looks odd but the invoice has not even been generated yet, I would wait for the proper document rather than trying to diagnose an estimate.

Once the invoice and payment confirmation exist, and the numbers still refuse to behave, that is when OTA Ninja can help trace missing or extra bookings, amount mismatches, commission, manual adjustments, cancellations and unexplained bank differences.

Got the actual payout files and the numbers still look odd?

My quick “what does this number mean?” check

  1. Your Balance: unpaid invoices already generated.
  2. Next Payout: an estimate building toward the upcoming payment run.
  3. New invoice appeared: expect Next Payout to reset as the cycle moves forward.
  4. Your Balance dropped to €0: check whether the invoice was paid before assuming anything disappeared.
  5. Checkout-date account: use invoices and payment confirmations rather than relying on Bookings for Payout.
  6. Actual documents still do not add up: now we investigate properly.

That is it. No séance required.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my GetYourGuide Your Balance show €0?

GetYourGuide says Your Balance can show zero when you have no unpaid invoices, your most recent invoice has already been paid, or a new invoice has not yet been generated. A zero balance does not automatically mean you have no future earnings coming.

What does GetYourGuide Next Payout mean?

Next Payout is GetYourGuide’s estimate of the amount expected in the upcoming payment run. It can include eligible bookings, supplier cancellation compensation and manual payouts or adjustments, depending on your payment cycle.

Why did my GetYourGuide Next Payout suddenly reset?

GetYourGuide says the Next Payout calculation resets when a new invoice is generated, rather than simply when the calendar month changes. Monthly suppliers normally see that reset once per month, while bi-weekly suppliers see it twice per month.

Can Your Balance include more than one unpaid invoice?

Yes. GetYourGuide says that if you have multiple unpaid invoices, Your Balance can show the combined amount of those unpaid invoices.

Does the Bookings for Payout page work for every supplier?

No. GetYourGuide says the Bookings for Payout page is for supply partners paid based on travel date. If you are paid based on checkout date, GetYourGuide advises using your invoices and payment confirmations instead.

Can OTA Ninja check the Next Payout number?

OTA Ninja does not audit a live dashboard estimate by itself. It checks the actual GetYourGuide invoice and payment confirmation files, plus the bank amount if you have it. If the dashboard looked odd and the later documents still do not add up, that is the point where a file-level check becomes useful.
